Selamat Deepavali, Selamat Hari Raya and some Driving Tips
OK, Deepavali and Hari Raya is coming. Reeely close. And i just can't wait to balik kampung this Friday.
Taking the opportunity of having my own blog (i do not own any blog last year and previous years - thanks Mat Jan!!), would like to wish my fellow blog readers Happy Deepavali and Selamat Hari Raya. If my comments in your blogs were sarcastic and u felt sakit hati, maaf banyak-banyak. Makan ketupat and rendang jangan banyak sangat nanti sakit perut. In fact, calories banyak tu so watch your diet. har har har....
The Happy Deepavali and Hari Raya wishes also goes to my TKC and uni friends - to those mommies and mommies to be, selamat berhari raya bersama anak-anak (the one outside and inside), to newly weds - selamat beraya bersama your beloved hubby, to singles - selamat beraya bersama family aje lah.
To my boss and office mates, sorry for all my wrong doings start from raya tahun lepas until this raya. And thank you for being around and making the working place such a nice place to work. U guys are great!!
To abah and mama (if u both were to read this) - ampun and maaf banyak-banyak sempena Hari Raya. Walau pun anakmu sudah besar, kalau ada duit raya extra, kecil tapak tangan, beg-beg raya akan ditadahkan. We fought and gurau a lot from last raya until this raya and would like to say "zero-zero", ok? hehehehe.
To my sisters and brother, Yah-congrats for your 5As yesterday. Burhan - watch your diet! Ainul - U better score your degree! Ayu - need to do more revision for your science. And Yang - Please change your favourite color to other colors... (what is this? a lecture session? hehe). Selamat Hara Raya! Better iron my baju raya or else i wont give any duit raya!
And to all who's driving, some safety tips (thanks KAAJ) to avoid road bullies (and don't be one too!)...
How Can Motorists Protect Themselves From Tarmac Terrorists (road bullies) ?
Be patient and keep your cool in traffic. The best way to avoid being the target of an aggressive driver is to practice basic traffic courtesy. Remember, never underestimate the other driver's capacity for mayhem :
1) Do not make obscene (facial or hand) gestures
2) Use Your Horn Sparingly
3) Don't block passing lane
4) Don't switch lanes without signaling
5) Avoid blocking the right-hand turn lane
6) Do not take more than one parking space
7) If you are not disabled, don't park in a disabled space !
8) Do not allow your door to hit the car parked next to you
9) Do not tailgate
10) If you travel slowly, pull over and allow traffic to pass
11) Avoid unnecessary use of high beam headlights
12) Don't stop in the road to talk with a pedestrian or other driver
13) Don't inflict loud music on neighboring cars
Other Useful Attitudes:
1) Assume other drivers' mistakes are not personal
2) Avoid all conflict if possible. If another driver challenges you, take a deep breath and get out of the way.
3) Be polite and courteous, even if the other driver isn't
4) Always remember that a truly aggressive driver could possibly follow you home !
Reduce your stress:
1) Allow plenty of time for the trip
2) Listen to soothing music
3) Improve the comfort in your vehicle
4) Understand that you can't control the traffic, but you can only react to it !
Drive safely and take care!!
