Accident
Pagi ni aku datang awal ke office. Pagi-pagi lagi dah ada accident kat traffic light masa aku pass by Courts Mammoth.
Hemm, teringat aku pun pernah accident sekali last 3 years. Dulu aku kerja kat Rawang. I was rushing from KL nak ke tempat kerja and was applying my lipstick when the front lorry suddenly brake and i banged into it. Aiseh.. Aku ingat lagi terkemut-kemut aku keluar dari kereta aku. Peerggghhh.. Lampu kereta dua-dua pecah. Hood dah terangkat and bumper dah jatuh. Driver lorry tu mati-mati salahkan aku ikut rapat sangat - aku tahu dia takut aku marah dia kenapa dia emergency brake.
First time involved in accident - Apa aku nak buat? Nasib baik masa tuh aku mampu berfikir. Lepas tengok kerosakan apa yang patut, aku cakap kat driver tuh suruh alih lorry nya ke tepi. Aku pelan-pelan masuk kereta and alih kereta aku ke tepi jugak. Supaya tak menggangu traffic. Orang lain yang tak bersalah tak patut menanggung akibat lambat ke tempat kerja kerana aku (chewah..). Then, aku ambik nombor kereta, nama and IC driver lorry tu. Lorry dia steady je. Not even a single scratch pun. Nasib baik jugak. Kalau tak, sure dia mintak aku bayar. We settle untuk tak buat report polis setelah aku hitung-hitung costs yang terpaksa aku tanggung. Dan sebelum 'CALL MAN' datang and peningkan kepala aku, baik aku bertindak dengan cepat.
Aku call office and request for emergency leave. Lepas tu aku bawak slow-slow kereta aku pergi bank amik duit dan pergi kedai potong yang banyak kat Rawang. Cari parts kereta aku yang rosak. Banyak kedai jugak lah aku pergi untuk compare-compare harga. Terasa macam bershopping pun ada waktu tu. Cuma condition kureeng sikit lah sebab kena masuk stor yang dusty. Last sekali aku dapat 2 lampu dan hood kereta. Pakat-pakat dengan tokey kedai tuh untuk hantar hood aku ke workshop yang dia reccommend. Siap deal price untuk mechanic tu baiki sekali. After aku puas hati dengan price, aku hantar kereta aku ke workshop yang direccommend. Kereta aku siap within a day! Lega..Aku hantar kereta aku untuk dicat 2 bulan after baiki.
Walaupun aku accident and it was really memeningkan kepala dan mengeringkan poket, i look at the brighter side of the situation. At least aku dah tahu how to act kalau ada my friends yang accident. At least aku dah tahu price estimation and can make negotiations when buying car parts.
Well, to women drivers out there, what you need to have is an emergency plan in case you are involved in any accident or car break down. Stick to a few favourite workshops (with towing services), jot down their addresses and phone numbers (and keep them in the car) and ask them questions while your car being serviced. Gain basic knowledge about car parts (and prices) from internet and magazines. And make sure your handphone is always functioning (can make call outs lah).
I know it is easy for those who have boyfriends and husbands to settle the problems.. (well, it depends though..) Those suggestions are basically for singles. Anyway, Don't you think that it will make you extra special and an extra-ordinary woman if you can handle the problems by yourself?
